Our Advanced Process Graphics™ (APG) HMI solution gives you the tools you need to create state-of-the-art operating graphics for your facility. The APG solution incorporates the latest industry standards and best-practices, combined with numerous innovations designed specifically to maximize operators’ situation awareness and effectiveness in responding to both routine and abnormal events.

The APG solution combines an extensive Object Library with a unique Operator Dashboard, together with Design Tools intended to maximize the efficiency of your graphics design effort.

APG Design Suite

The APG Design Suite includes tools that allow designers to rapidly layout and configure display pages, thus dramatically increasing the efficiency of implementation.

  • Easy to use, drag-and-drop design environment requires minimal training and allows easy sharing, commenting, and revision of draft designs
  • Design tools are independent of DCS hardware/software, allowing design to proceed before or in parallel with DCS implementation
  • Objects can be configured automatically at design time by linking to your tag database
  • Completed page layouts can be automatically translated to the DCS environment in seconds, dramatically reducing implementation time

Object Library

The APG Object Library includes objects for all common equipment and instrumentation. Every object is crafted down to the last detail to provide operators with the information they need in an efficient visual format. Features include:
  • A full range of instrumentation objects that actively assist operators in interpreting process data by including visual cues for key contextual information such as alarm limits, controller setpoints, and normal operating ranges
  • A full range of equipment objects incorporating features designed to assist operators in assessing status of valves, drives, and other common and specialized equipment types
  • Unique operator aids for tracking process values and controller outputs
  • Extensive use of compact analog presentation formats to promote rapid visual scanning of process status and high information density
  • Availability of complex, “information-rich” visualizations (e.g., ‘spiderweb’ diagrams) that can be used to show high-level process status summaries

Operator Dashboard

The APG Operator Dashboard combines faceplates, navigation functions, and access to auxiliary information, such as trends and alarm details, in a single dedicated panel, providing operators with a unified control zone. Major features include:

  • Enhanced faceplates designed to complement the APG instrumentation and equipment objects
  • The ability to view enhanced alarm information and operator guidance for diagnosis and response activities
  • Trending tools
  • Interlock information
  • Alarm information integrated into a navigation tools that allows operators to immediately focus on the most important HMI pages
  • Navigation to any page in the operator’s span of control in a maximum of 2 clicks
  • Links to auxiliary information such as interlock details, point details, P&IDs, logs, and third-party applications
